Talk Nerdy To Me

You’re very ignorant if you think DDosing causes no damage. You are costing and causing actual harm to someone who may or may not be actually part of the problem.
If you want to do something call representatives, protest in real life, write letters. If you think I’m sitting here doing nothing about this you are very mistaken. But, DDosing is not only very illegal but it hurts people who are not involved.
And YES this is our fault for FUCKING STEALING. Don’t defend stealing and claim you want a free internet. Stealing is Stealing. PERIOD.
I also stated that DDosing gives them more reasons to want to control us. JUST. SAYING.

Check it out, folks.  See it here!  This is why.  This is the kind of person that allows this shit to happen.  The kind of person who defines “stealing” as “downloading Underworld 3 instead of not seeing it at all” is the kind of person who will cross their arms and nod knowingly as you are indefinitely detained for downloading a PDF of Little House of the Prairie.
“This is our fault for stealing” is literally what this person thinks, and what they think about how you should be treated by your government.  hahahaha

Let me put it this way:
I’m a writer. If you downloaded a PDF of my book without buying, I’d be very upset because you have stolen from me.
You can say all you want “Oh well, since I downloaded Underworld 3 and saw it, I’ll buy it since I liked it!” But that’s a fucking lie and you know it.
You have it once you download it, why buy the movie?
I don’t support ACTA, I think it’s too much. I think that they should put in easier ways to rent and see movies online. HOWEVER we as the consumers are NOT WITHOUT BLAME.

Theft is the deprivation of an object from the original owner.  When I download a copy of your book, you still have the book.  Illegal copying is not theft.  You are using the precise arguments that the MPAA has been using since VHS became and thing, and they tried to shut it down.  You are literally defending the MPAA.  You are human garbage.

I don’t understand, why are you insulting and calling this person a piece of garbage when their argument makes sense?
Just because it is not the technical definition of ‘stealing’, it doesn’t mean you aren’t taking away their profits from what they made. As an artist, 3liza, you would be pissed if someone found a picture of your art on the internet and then reproduced it for their own profit, or if people never bought anything to support you because it was readily available on the internet.
Again, you can fly off the handle and say that we’re supporting ACTA, MMPA, whatever but in reality we’re not - we’re just saying that this is the consequence of illegal pirating & downloading of property by consumers that takes away from the profits of those creating it (regardless of their economic status, and whether they ‘need it’ or not).
It makes sense - if you steal and pirate everything, soon someone’s going to get pissed and trying to stop you doing it. It doesn’t mean that you’re ‘human garbage’. It means you see the logical conclusion, and can understand why it would happen. It doesn’t mean you support what ACTA proposes, it means you support a better way of doing it.
