I had an absolute blast tonight at the Ubisoft ‘Ubinight’.Sorry for the terrible quality but I’m in bed and my makeup’s worn off but that’s my Assassins Creed: Revelations portrait. And yes, That’s ME in the assassins gear!! :D I’ll upload it later when I get the chance.Games that were available to demo, the ones in bold are the ones I had a chance to play:
You Can Dance: Abba
Black Eyed Peas Experience
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, The Game
Rayman: Origins
[Not going to lie this was the most frustrating game I’ve ever encountered in my entire life, and that’s what I thought about the first Rayman too. However, that being said, fans of the game won’t be disappointed, and the concept art is absolutely mind blowing!]
Motion Sports: Adrenaline
[This one reinstated my feelings about xbox360 and Kinect by freezing and not selecting multiple times. To be fair, it was a White xbox360, and the lighting was bad, but it wasn’t a stand out game for me. It was alright, but not something I’d purchase or play over and over]
Just Dance 3
[This was just like the other Just Dances for me, just with different songs (however, it does have ‘Let’s go to the Mall!’ from How I Met Your Mother as a choice, which I think is pretty epic… and now it’s stuck in my head forever…). Same old same old, though more of a party favour than something you’d play on your own (Unless you’re into that kind of thing of course, It just seemed to rely on multiple partners)]
Assassins Creed: Revelations (Online Multiplayer)
[I haven’t played any of the Brotherhood Multiplayer (I know I know, shut up, I got sidetracked by Bioshock 2 ok.) so I can’t really compare it, but apparently there are a few subtle differences in the way the screen’s set-up and a few more characters. I played this one quite a few times though, and it was a lot of fun everyone getting really competitive on 8 Playstations in the same room :)]
Driver: San Francisco (Online Multiplayer)
[I had low expectations of this one (oh, another car racing game…) but I REALLY enjoyed it. We played the trail multiplayer game (where you have to stay behind the yellow car in order to pick up the ‘trail’ and gain the most points) which was soooo much fun trying to compete with others, as well as the aerial selection of vehicles which was really cool!]
Rabbids: Alive and Kicking (for the Xbox 360 Kinect)
[Pretty fun, Stomp-a-Mole type game where the Rabbids would pop up from whatever surface you’re standing on. The Move had a bit of trouble picking us up at first, but again I think that was due to poor lighting. Nice fun arcad-y type of game]
PowerUp Heros
[For a Kinect game, this one realllllyyy impressed me. Specific movements create specific moves on screen, raising the arms then pushing the hands outwards in a smooth motion, releases a fireball at your enemy, or raising a leg kicks them (I just kept yelling ‘Berserker Barrage!!). There were a few issues with picking up the moves but since there was a huge crowd behind us, that could be the cause, and again lighting (for some reason they dimmed all the lights at about 7:30 :/. I would definitely pick this one up, but again it relies on having someone there with you for it to be most enjoyable]
Track Mania 2: Canyon
[Addictive yet annoying computer game. The car track is similar to Mario Karts where there are a LOT of places you can fall down, and getting the right angle is crucial. Once it hooked you, you’d play for a while, but ultimately I couldn’t even finish the first course.]
And that was my night!
Coupled with the free drinks and food, plus a lot of trailers and enjoyable nerdy company and a few obscure freebies (the Zoo girls were there, so we got free magazines and… hair gel?) it made for a really awesome evening, definitely glad I didn’t let uni work ruin my life by taking me away from this.Sorry for the massive post, if you have any questions you know where my ask box is, I’ve got a few trailers I’ve been wanting to put them up so I’ll see if I can embed them in the next few days :D
