The app has two modes: AutoPilot and Manual. In AutoPilot, the app chooses what you hear based on a number of conditions. What you hear when in a quiet place is different from what you hear in an area with more background noise.
Users are also treated to different soundscapes based on whether they are still or in action and the time of day. The app also uses sounds and voices near you to augment the experience.

In the middle of a Colorado theatre, packed for the midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, a heavily armed gunman opened fire on excited crowds killing at least 12 midnight film goers and wounding at least 50 others amidst the chaos.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old James Holmes from Aurora, CO.
Cops say Holmes was wearing a bulletproof vest, riot helmet and a gas mask when he entered the Century 16 Movie Theater through an emergency exit and began randomly firing at movie patrons. Witnesses say he tossed a smoke bomb into the crowd before he started shooting.
Police arrested Holmes in the movie theater parking lot — and federal agents swarmed around the man’s apartment building — and evacuated his building after the suspect “made a statement about explosives” in his apartment
Warner Bros. Studio has issued the following statement, after cancelling the premiere in Paris, France:
“Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time.”
Heartfelt sympathies to the injured, the dead, and the families of the victims. It is painfully sad to see such an exciting, happy event go down horribly due to one individual who took it too enormously too far.
