Specs sound cool though: Newly revealed controller for Sony’s just announced Playstation4 - includes touchpad, share button, microphone jack, and a light bar (to be integrated as a Move function, picked up by eyetoy camera).
What do you think?
Despite being shut down by Sony reps previously, Kotaru reports the new console, apparently called Orbis (codename or title, unknown) is still in the works, predicted release in late 2013.
According to Kotaru’s ‘reliable’ source (so say they all), the PS4 unit will not support PS3 games or used/pre-owned titles (or, pre-owned/used titles will require a separate fee in order to gain full access). This is not surprising considering the controversy over used games and the profits the retailer stores gain, where game developers lose.

The Wall Street Journal reports that at CES, Sony bigwig (and rumored future president of the company) Kaz Hirai denied speculation that they would be revealing a next-generation console at E3 in June.
“I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that,” Hirai explained.
Looks like Sony fans will be disappointed this coming E3, I wonder what that means for Microsoft? If a 10 year cycle is what the PS3 is in for, and it’s just had their 5th birthday, why is the PS4 available for pre-order? Who were MCV’s sources to confirm the rumours in the first place? Is he bluffing?

Both consoles have been listed for a time as ‘pre-order’ available in many game retailers systems, however this seems to be the first of a definite announcement of details for both sources (the WiiU has not been a secret for quite a while).
Suspected to be prompted by Nintendos intention to announce specs about their new WiiU console, Microsoft partners have confirmed to MCV the announcement (though rumoured for some time) will go ahead, and Sony execs have made it clear ‘they won’t be left behind this time’.
With such strong competition between the three console developers, who will come out on top?
